such loud crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it while all the people stood on the shore.

That must have been really interesting, eh? To be out on a lake in a boat because there's so many people.

Then he told them many things in parables, saying, a farmer went out to sow his seed.

And as he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.

Parables is difficult to explain what they are exactly, but They're like stories that explain deep truths.

So Jesus uses stories and he often tells stories that talk about things that everyone can understand.

Okay, see, rocky places, lots of rock, not much soil, springs up quickly, it comes up, it grows up quickly, because the soil is shallow, it's not deep, it's shallow.

Verse 6, but when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

the sun is strong the plants can't handle the heat and they dry up because the soil is shallow they don't have root verse 7 other seed fell among thorns which grew up and choked the plants Okay, thorns.
