At the A-Leagues Season Launch Day, Poletti spoke to Shelby McMahon from Melbourne City to discuss the clubs trophy ambitions this season, Cortnee Vine signing with the club, how Shelby would grow…
Shelby McMahonGuestPolettiHostI guess looking a little bit more broadly, obviously, you know, you do fantastic work on the field.
I'm going to get you to put a business person hat on for a second.
Melbourne City, winning trophies, winning games, playing fantastic, you know, good football to watch.
How do you find a way to get fans to Casey Fields? Because, you know, you haven't quite been able to attract probably as many fans as the club would have liked.
So how do you, I guess, sort of like, how would you go about attracting fans to Casey Fields so that you can start to play in front of some larger crowds?
Yeah, I think it's definitely an important part of it and it's something we should definitely work towards.
Obviously difficult to get out to Casey, but just encouraging the local community.
There's AFL around there, there's cricket, there's no reason why we can't connect with other teams.
We have large support bases and make them see, okay, cool, so the Casey Demons are playing really well, let's go over and watch Melbourne City or Connect with each sport and make people see, you know, it's pretty good.
So just encouraging and making sure that it's accessible so they know what's out there and they know the quality that's going to be there.
