Poletti is joined by Sydney FC striker Amber Luchtmeijer to discuss the NPL, looking ahead to the new A-League Women season, juggling study and playing, and more in this interview. Please don't…
Amber LuchtmeijerGuestPolettiHostA lot of turnover across the league this season, and a lot has been made of the fact that the players still aren't necessarily full-time professional.
I know that the ongoing CBA negotiation is happening, and I'm not asking you to comment on that specifically, but how do you sort of balance the fact that you're not fully professional yet while trying to win trophies, trying to improve as players while still having to juggle work?
Yeah and it's hard like I'm a full-time uni student as well and I know a lot of the girls that have a full-time job but honestly it's the love of the game that takes you there you know you play because you love it and that's what we're doing here in the A-League I think it has so much potential to be one of the best leagues in the world if we can just really knuckle down on women's football so yeah it's a really exciting time to be a player in women's football as well because it's taking off right now so I think just like keep doing what you love keep chasing it keep working hard and you know we'll get there one day.
