Welcome to the **AIM Ideas Summit Series**—quick-fire, high-impact conversations recorded live on the conference floor. We’re sitting down with the mayors, town managers, legal counsel, engineering…
All right, I'm here with Stephanie Crandall with Barnes and Thornburg at the AIM Ideas Summit.
And I'm really looking forward to this conversation.
Stephanie, thank you for joining.
Thank you so much for having me.
Can you tell us a little bit more, like what brings you to AIM? Why do you like this conference? And how many times have you been here?
The AYDS Summit is always great to be able to connect with just communities all around the state, find out what their projects they have going on, how they're trying to address their everyday issues, and how we can be of service at Barnes and Thornburg.
to provide some counsel on putting together financing stacks, labor and employment issues, just a variety of things so that we can help our communities really thrive and be all that they want to be with the further residents.
absolutely.
And I have a feeling that you were kind of the first call, like when communities are like, how do I solve this problem? I'm looking at this.
I imagine that you get a lot of communities that call you and ask these questions.
What's something that you're hearing coming up from your clients over the last few months?
Well, I mean, of course, the big issue is what's going on at the state legislature and how that's impacting funding for their projects that they need to get done.
I mean, how are we funding for public safety? How are we taking care of our residents and making sure that, you know, trash continues to get picked up? I mean, it's the basic services.
And how do we make sure that we are providing the best services that we can in our communities? And that's one of the things that we can help at Barnes and Thornburg.
And so, you know, we just we work with communities all around the state to help them understand what tools they have at their grasp.
And, you know, what can we do to help them connect those dots so that they can make sure that they are accomplishing their goals and providing the best service?
Well, I love that.
I always say that you need a good accountant and a good attorney.
Yeah.
Right.
And that's true in local government as well.
