And this is Jesus talking here and it says, Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the wind blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall because it had foundation on the rock.

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who builds his house on sand.

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house, and it fell with a great crash." You know, that was always a story they threw around in Sunday school, and I think there was a song about it, but we never really, at least for me, focused on the true meaning.

But with a foundation on a rock, with Jesus Christ as the center of your foundation, you're going to get through it, just as in the parable, the house built on the rock makes it through the storm.

And I think one of the most heartbreaking yet beautiful images of that that we see today are our fellow Christians overseas in countries where they can't openly worship.

And amidst that, they're still praising Jesus and jumping up and down and worshiping through those tough times.

So for the Christian listening to this, keep our brothers and sisters in Christ in your prayers in these nations that don't have the freedom that we do here in the United States.

And for the non-believer, if this is new to you, I would encourage you to seek truth and foundation through the promise of Jesus Christ and build your life on that foundation.

Because while there will be trials and tribulations and struggles, it is much, much better leaning on God because you can't do it on your own.
