Tony, any overreactions from the weekend?
Uh, I have one that I'm confident saying that the PGMOL and the EPL refereeing standard is abysmal.
We talked about it yes- or we talked about it last week with Mike Dean.
Uh, I was hoping we wouldn't have to have, like, another refereeing discussion again so soon.
But this weekend was fold of, full of contentious decisions.
We'll get to them in due course, I'm sure.
But I would say that is the overarching narrative from the weekend, is just how poor the standard of refereeing is in the Premier League.
And I'm not sure how they fix it.
Uh, we can maybe talk about Our ideas in that, but that was kind of the overriding thing.
Uh, saw a lot with the Arsenal game and Sunderland today got carried forward to the City United game.
And yeah, I would just say that the, the level is, is not there from, from the refs.
Yeah, I think on like most of the games that we have on the running order today, we have a refereeing decision to talk about in each of them, which is never good.
Um, I, I think we'll come to talk about the M- Manchester derby decision in just a moment.
But I think the thing that's most shocking about that one, besides the decision itself, is the speed in which it came out.
To have like a same-day opinion drop i- is, is pretty remarkable.
I don't know how, how many times that has happened before.
Um, but the thing I wanted to mention most of all about overreactions was, um, uh, De Zerbi post-match press conference where he got snippy with a reporter, um, and was saying, "Hey, have we not scored a goal in two games, or have we had two clean sheets in a row? In Italy, this would be two clean sheets in a row, so what are you gonna write tomorrow?" And I just think that's a, a very fun spin on what is a horrible situation at Tottenham right now.
