If stepping on the scale can make or break your entire day (or if you avoid it entirely because you’re afraid of what it will say), this episode is for you. Today I'm breaking down what the scale is…
And even if I have done one, we need to hear things like so many times before they sink in.
And we also need to not just be listening, we need to be doing, right? We need to have some actual skills to take away to be practicing because just hearing things doesn't change our behavior.
Just reading something, just watching someone do something or say something is not enough to change our behavior.
And kind of just a bit of a quick sidebar tangent, I think that's So much of what's not a problem, but where I struggle with a lot of content on social media, especially with certain influencers and creators who are doing wonderful things.
They're creating and putting out great content, especially around body image and showing their bodies.
And, you know, showing their bodies in like different positions and with different clothes and showing their cellulite and their stomachs and all this, which is amazing.
Like, it is amazing to see this because the visual representation and seeing that is huge.
And also it's not enough, right? Like just seeing someone else – like I think about this all the time.
I did a podcast episode with Lauren Chan who was a Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model and she's plus size.
And everyone I know – and we'll do this with other women – we'll look at her and be like, oh, my God, she looks amazing, but I could never wear that, right? And she has a belly and she has rolls and she has back fat and she looks like the size 12 or 14 that she is, right? Yeah.
I can never do that, right? So seeing someone do that, right? Seeing even someone like Ashley Graham or Hunter McGrady, who are also plus-size but have even bigger plus-size bodies than Lauren Chan, seeing them is not enough because all these women are still walking around saying, I'm disgusting.
I can't go to the beach, right? So just seeing a woman on the cover of Sports Illustrated, if it was enough, we wouldn't have any of these issues.
