I Just Wanted to Go for a Swim_ but My Body Attracted Too Much Attention

Everyone has secrets.

Everyone lies and hides things sometimes.

My name is Rachel, and I'm a liar.

It all began the night I stayed over at my friend Mina's house.

It's cool your parents let you come.

Although technically, I wasn't the only one at that little party.

What's really cool is that my dad let me come.

Must be hard being the sheriff's daughter.

By the way, see that girl? Her name is Norma, and she's always been the leader of our group.

Who are you texting? Nate.

He's getting on my nerves.

I'll probably dump him soon and find someone better.

I think you two make a great couple.

A guy worthy of a queen like me hasn't been born yet.

We were chatting about nothing in particular when we heard a noise outside the window.

It looked like someone's silhouette had flashed past the window.

I'll go check it out.

Mina went outside, but there was no one there.

Soon, we all went to sleep.

I fell asleep quickly, but at some point, the sound of footsteps woke me up.

Norma, where are you going? I can't sleep.

I just want some fresh air.

When we woke up in the morning, she was gone.

Her phone's off? Come on, she's the queen, remember? Leaving without telling anyone is exactly her style.

I was on my way home when I heard the wail of a police siren.
