Finding Peace When Anxiety Won't Let Go

Now, okay, so let's talk about it a little bit more.

That can feel a little ethereal, right? You've got a mom out there.

Maybe she's in the newborn stage.

She's rocking a baby in the middle of the night.

She feels like she can't even get her legs out of bed in the morning because she's so tired.

Or you've got a mama out there who... is struggling with toddlers who just refuse to listen and are ramping up every day.

Or you have a mom, maybe she's got a special needs child or a teenager who's gone awry.

What does it mean in a tangible sense to delight in the Lord? I mean, it sounds great.

We want to experience God, but...

You know, when she's up at night worried that her teenager isn't going to get home on time or she's worried about a baby with a fever.

What does it mean tangibly to delight in the Lord?

Yeah, I can relate to all of these stages as you can too.

So I realize how ethereal it can sound.

But hey, it comes from scripture.

So if it feels ethereal, we're missing something because it's not meant to be.

So if it is, my point is there's hope that God is intentionally building solutions for you so that it stops feeling ethereal and it starts feeling real.

So God is on your side and God is for you when you desire to delight in him.

So I think that's important because you're not fighting God for this.

You're actually joining him in his desire for you to delight in him.

So that's probably the first thing is that God is for you on this.

He wants you to delight in him.

So just even remembering that, because many of us often think that, especially in our parenting journeys, that we have to prove ourselves.

We have to prove ourselves worthy of being parents to this beautiful little child or this very difficult, not so little child sometimes.

And so I would say there's two things.

First, it's remembering that God has... intentionally decreed that he wants you to delight in him.
