Mary Long-DhonauGuestKelly Ostler-CoyleGuestNow, that leads us really nicely then into... last night and what happened last night.
We're recording this on Wednesday the 14th of October but last night in London there was a parliamentary reception that I attended as did Kelly and Mary and about 200 other representatives from across the flood and PFR sector.
So we really have this parliamentary reception every year, but we've done it for the last maybe three or four to kind of kick off Flood Action Week.
Last year, we were really excited because we had a new flood mobile to launch.
This year, What better than a new B Flood Ready? So the re-imagined version of the Pathfinder's B Flood Ready.
So we've taken that brand and what we want to do is make it the trusted front door for flood resilience to begin with for consumers, but then expanding it through our roadmap over the next few years for the insurance industry, the PFR industry, We want to be able to do research, innovation.
But we are going to have a legacy to leave and the legacy will be flood ready.
And all the work that we are doing that can supersede flood re will go there.
And so it's a really important next step in the flood resilience journey.
And we're asking and encouraging anyone that wants to be part of this conversation to get in touch.
We had a speech from the new CEO or a chair, rather, of Flood Re and a screening of the new Aardman Animations short film under the Pathfinder.
And it was a chance to get together, wasn't it, with all of our colleagues who are working so hard um across the flood preparedness the flood resilience and the pfr sector to um or to do all that good stuff that you're both talking about um i will come on to the pfr sector in a minute um you know i referenced that i was i was working in that you know 15 years ago but before i do um kelly you've spoke a little bit about um the the future i suppose then of of floodway and and the transition so why is be flood ready and and pfr important to that um that next that next phase of of floodway why why is it that you're you're using this as that sort of trusted from door i think was the phrase that you that you used
absolutely and i'm a really great question because If we do nothing as a country and expect that in 2039 we're going to be in a better position than we were in 2007 when the floods happened, then we're not going to be.
