This bonus episode is brought to you by the level of \*over it* October has us feeling. Seriously take a second and ask yourself if your symptoms sorta come to life during this month/during the season…
I remember when I was first diagnosed, I was – well, October was my first symptom.
Which now knowing what the October slide is and why my body possibly was like over – like too much and now here's a relapse type thing.
And the following like at one year mark – I remember being like, oh, why do I feel like shit? And that's when I learned about the October slide.
So I didn't learn about the October slide when I was in my diagnosis journey, like trying to get a diagnosis.
I learned about it a year later because I was like, oh, I feel like shit because I had that awareness of my body just tuning in with it a little bit more.
Whereas I think all the years prior, because we do believe I had MS for a long time before my first diagnostic flare, I think I just like ignored it.
But now that I know what's happening, and I do feel like it's a double-edged sword.
So it's kind of like, how do you walk forward with that, with this knowledge? And so if you're here, you know what the October slide is.
And if you're new and you're like, what the fuck is the October slide? What are you going to tell me? Something else I have to look for and be aware of.
