If every request turns into a battle, mornings feel like a marathon, and you're constantly walking the line between staying calm and completely losing your patience, you're not alone. In this episode…
I was starting to talk more about sensory profiles, but it was left out of the conversation for years and years and years and years and years and years.
I mean, our son, we live out in the mountains and he will text me sometimes and he's like, Dad, I have to go climb a mountain.
If we don't get that physical pressure, I mean, a few minutes ago, like this morning, I went out and I did 10 miles, 3,500 feet of elevation.
And I think people who don't have sensory issues don't realize that the kids physically crave that.
And we don't let our kids do that because it's like, oh, they're going to get hurt.
So, Tanya, that's an idea of, okay, I know my child's nature is I can see them when they're standing somewhere.
Well, now in a classroom, I can give them chair push-ups where they have to push down with the sides of their hands on the chair and do push-ups in the class in their seat.
that will change their behavior way more quickly than don't do this or consequences, right? Like consequences tend not to work with strong will kits.
