[upbeat music] Hey guys, it's Melissa with the Chicken Sitters podcast, and this is episode 232, Squirrel Lovers.
Now, this little fella, or big fella I should say, in our yard in the picture I posted with the podcast, eats bird food with the birds and the turkeys.
He hangs upside down from my feeder and will, like, eat all the little bird seed droppings from the, you know, the turkeys from them eating and them dropping it on the ground.
We had about, oh geez, uh, 22 turkeys or so in our yard yesterday after supper all at once.
Big ones, little ones.
The little ones are starting to grow up.
It's so cute.
I remember seeing them when they were really tiny walking around.
Uh, they're getting to be, you know, big turkeys already.
The squirrel was, like, drinking from the bird feeder, and I've named him Chip.
Um, I believe it's the same one that comes by every day.
Uh, he's pretty husky.
[laughs] He's cute.
I sat and I watched him as, like, the hummingbirds, like, chased each other.
We have two or three of them that are playing and kinda, like, chase each other, and they're, like, chirping and flying around to and from their, um, hummingbird feeders.
Now, Chip, there's quite a few different, um, squirrels out there, but Chip is a eastern gray squirrel.
And they eat mostly, you know, like acorns, walnuts, tree seeds.
They love, you know, bird feed.
We have about three acorn trees in front of our house near our bird feeder and the bird bath, so you know, we always see him hanging out there.
