This one is about soap characters and how we relate to them, particularly as neurodivergent folk.
So without further ado, here we are, ready to dive in.
Hello and welcome to episode four of the Chaotic Soapbox.
So this episode, we're discussing once again our favourite soap, which is Days of Our Lives, and we're discussing in particular the character of Marlena and those soap tropes.
This is kind of the first one that we'll touch on, which is the calm woman in the storm.
So what we're going to talk about today is why... neurodivergent people imprint on somebody like Marlene, why our brains as neurodivergent people choose that kind of favorite character, that favorite adult that we do imprint on.
And we know that it's not just Marlene, it's characters like Olivia Benson, it's characters like Dana Scully.
So we want to discuss why we kind of attracted to them as characters and why we imprint on them.
We're also going to talk a bit about the feminist aspect of somebody like Marlena, why she's more of a feminist icon, a good role model in terms of feminism and what she represents.
And then we'll finish, we'll wind up with our NeuroSpicy moments of the week.
