We're looking at a sunshine, a week of sunshine ahead here with dry conditions, quite the opposite of what we had last week in what is one of the wettest first 10 days of October on record in Jacksonville.

If it didn't rain anymore, we'd still end up with nearly three times the average amount of October rainfall, and we are now at 10th.

And of course, while we were starting to make improvement on the drought through September, boy, this really helped us out.

I'm not going to tell you that it obliterated or wiped it out, but boy, it made a serious dent.

So we've got uh retention ponds filled like the old days so to speak um nice and full and um yeah technically still a long-term drought and we've been asking for rain for a long time our aquifers need it but we also after a 10 to 12 day stretch like that need a few dry days now and we certainly will get that of course our evaporation rate much lower now this time of year the days are shorter the temperatures are generally cooler Speaking of which, though, it will be a warm week with all the sunshine, but with comfortable humidity, we will be dropping off nicely at night.

And that happens a lot of times in the fall and spring when you have that dry air.

So while it's very warm, and that is a good 5 to 6 degrees above average during the afternoon hours, we at least don't have an insufferable feel-like temperature.

And then we do have a cold front that moves through Friday night and early Saturday.
