The Vault is one of my favorite podcasts, as I love reliving great conversations.
And with 12 years and over 1,500 conversations across our podcast, there have been a lot of great ones.
When Jonathan and I started planning the very first Blister Summit, we focused a lot on gear, getting our audience, who are some of the most passionate skiers and snowboarders out there, hands-on with new-for-next-year gear, and creating great conversations around that gear and the industry as a whole.
What we didn't realize at the time was that we were also building something else entirely, a community.
one centered around a shared passion for the sport, where founders, CEOs, pro athletes, and everyday skiers all show up on the same footing.
No hierarchy, no egos allowed, just a great group of people coming together for a week on snow.
Watching that happen every year has honestly been the biggest reward of doing this event.
Eric Hoji Jorlofsson is one of the people who's become an integral part of that community, a legend in the ski world.
And at every summit, you'll find him jumping into group meetups, hanging out at booths, grabbing a drink after hours, giving bits of wisdom on the chairlift, and then hopping on a panel that same evening.
Each athlete was asked to describe their most memorable line, and they were all good.
But Hoji telling the story of one of his favorite lines, one he skied many years before, was too good not to bring back from the archive.
