This week, no fib, we bring you a special Halloween episode of DOGOOD DETECTIVES. Nora Dogood and her little brother Trey are Sunshine Bay’s sharpest kid detectives who pursue suspects, follow leads…
Can we go into the corn maze, Nora? Please? Scarecrow farms.
Since we were little, Trey and I had come here to pick out our Halloween jack-o'-lanterns, play games, and admire the prize-winning pumpkins.
But this visit, we were here for a different kind of harvest.
The truth.
Ooh, I want to climb the hay tower.
Trey, we're here on a case.
I know, I know.
As long as the one at Louie's Lobster Hut.
Ooh, look, the giant scarecrow is back.
A lot of hay stuffed into that thing.
Where do you buy clothes and shoes for a 15-foot-tall scarecrow? Good question.
Nora, Trey, I'm glad I found you.
Mayor Gladwell! We came as soon as we could.
You said there was a squash situation?
Yes, and I'm out of my gourd with worry.
Come on, follow me to the prize vegetable exhibit.
Mayor Gladwell led us to the row of giant gourds, each prominently displayed in its own pen.
At the end of the row, a pen reserved for the greatest of all gourds, the pumpkin.
Waiting for us was Buford, Sunshine Bay's most famous farmer.
His family had been growing in this soil for generations.
Buford, these are the detectives I told you about.
Huh? Oh, thank you, Mayor Gladwell.
