What if the voice you hear most throughout your day was one of encouragement instead of criticism? In this episode, we’re talking about the way we speak to ourselves, the importance of giving…
Today, we are talking about the importance of being kind and really just being careful and considerate with the way that we speak to ourselves, the way that we talk to ourselves, the little voice that we have within our head, or even the way that we model our own outward speaking in front of our family, in front of our kids, in front of our peers.
And this is something that I think is really important as mothers, as women, just in general, to model kind speaking and kind words.
Our words are so incredibly powerful.
They carry such a weight to them.
I am a firm believer in the things that we speak, that is what we believe, and that they have the ability to put forth life into the world around us.
And what an incredible honor to be able to be intentional with the words that we speak and the way that we speak them.
Now, that's all great and wonderful, except when you are struggling, except when you are having a hard time, except when life is chaotic and messy and you feel pulled and pushed in every single direction.
I know the beginning of a school year, a new routine, the new schedule can be a lot, and I would be lying if I said I'm doing well.
[laughs] Okay? It has been a huge adjustment for us over here, and I am in the mentality of taking everything one moment at a time and figuring it out as I go along.
And in those seasons when we're stretched and in the seasons when we're pulled, it can be really easy to be hard on ourselves.
It can be really easy to allow the negative self-talk to win.
It can be easy to feel like we are not doing good enough, or that there's more ways that we should be doing better.
