What if life doesn’t actually slow down? We can spend so much time waiting for the next season to begin—when work settles down, the kids are older, the schedule gets easier, or we finally have more…
And this is something that can happen to all of us, right? This is something that is not a strange feeling to so many of us that are moms and we work and we have passions and we try to be involved and be present and to make the most of every season for the ones we care about.
But life gets incredibly busy and we can get stuck in a season that feels like there is too much expected of us.
Our schedules are too full.
We're overcommitted.
We are unable to escape.
And so we tell ourselves that things will get better in the next season.
Once a specific season is over or once our schedule changes, things will be different.
And while it can be so important to help us cope with hectic schedules, knowing that the season won't last forever, we also don't want to sell ourselves short.
We don't want to forget to live fully in the season of life we are in, even when it may feel busier than ever before, because there are still joyful moments.
There are still really unique treasures about our current seasons of life.
Things that will never be this way other than right here in this moment and we don't want to feel too busy to miss out on it.
You know those people in your life who are always busy and they constantly talk about their schedules.
They talk about their commitments.
They talk any conversation you have with them or you ask them, hey, how are you doing? It's always like, we're busy, we're busy, right? Like that is their constant go-to response.
They're always talking about how jammed packed they are, always on the go.
You're running to the next thing.
And maybe you're thinking, Haley, like that's actually me.
I am that person.
And a lot of the times I can be as well.
But if you can stop for a moment and just think about being on the opposite end of that conversation.
imagine being the friend that is receiving that text message or constantly hearing this, I'm busy.
This is what's going on.
And think about how it feels when you are on the receiving end of someone who's constantly talking about just how busy life is.
When you hear that from somebody else, it can be easy to feel like your life is less significant, right? Like, oh, okay, well, all they're doing is talking about themselves and how much they have going on.
they're not even asking about me, right? They're not even acknowledging that we also have a busy schedule.
