Do you ever feel like you're carrying the weight of everything? The responsibilities, the expectations, the endless to-do lists, and the pressure to somehow do it all perfectly. In this episode…
And so today's episode is really focusing on removing this pressure that we put on ourselves to try to get everything done, right? We are trying to create this summer routine.
We're trying to create this dream summer, right? We have all these things in our brains that we're trying to curate, that we're trying to create, we're trying to lead.
And when things don't go the way we plan, it can be easy to fall apart, right? It's so easy to allow comparison to take a hold in our thought process.
It's also easy to let guilt in, especially when things don't go the way we planned, or maybe you're trying to implement a new routine within your household for the summer and it backfires and you don't process it the way that you should, or you lose your temper and you instantly feel this tremendous guilt of like, okay, you know what? Like I really shouldn't have let this derail me, but it did.
And we have insane expectations that we carry with us.
We always have this failure of feeling like we are falling behind.
And then of course, this pressure that I must do everything and be everything to my kids.
I must do everything and be everything to you.
the people I'm in relationships with and to myself, right? And to our work, all the things that we pour into and show up in every given day.
And so what I want this episode to be is want you to listen to this.
I want you to take a deep breath and I want you to breathe out the pressure that you carry.
I want you to breathe out all this pressure that you feel on a day-to-day basis and let it go, right? I'm talking about letting go of the pressure, especially in the month of summer, but really this is true of any season, right? You get to the fall, you get to the holidays, you get to all these different seasons and we build them up in our brains.
We build them up of all the things that we need to do, the fun to-do list, the bucket list, the summer thing, bucket list, the fall family bucket list, right? All these things that we want to do, all these little mini adventures that we want to go on, which it's so fun to dream.
Absolutely dream.
Don't stop dreaming, right? You have to have that dream.
It's fun to create these visions in our mind, but we have to let go of the pressure to do it all.
We have to let go of the pressure of making every day this beautiful, fantastic, you where we feel like we are constantly having to, you know, entertain our kids, right? You can easily fall down this rabbit hole of, okay, like I need to have the perfect summer routine and the perfect summer schedule.
And this is going to be the activities that we're going to do.
And I'm going to create these morning boxes.
And you could spend a lot of time and a lot of money and a like would be this organized bliss.
However, can you do so without losing your mind? Can you do so without feeling incredibly frustrated and discouraged because this just doesn't work the way that you think it's gonna work? And so we have to give ourselves grace.
We have to be easy on ourselves knowing that we're already doing the hard work, right? We're doing the hard stuff.
It is hard to show up every day as your own self the version of you that you are trying to, you know, better yourself, trying to work on the areas that you know you want to see improvement in with all the voices and pressure from the world around us.
And so please let go of the pressure that you are carrying, right? There's also this pressure that we feel like, oh my gosh, I have to be in the best health condition, right? I have to be nourishing my body in the right way, right? I need to be perfectly hydrated and I need to be toned for summer, right? I went into the summer thinking like I am dreading being at the beach with my family and in one piece, in a bathing suit, let alone like one piece, anything, right? I was just dreading it.
