Have you noticed how quickly we rush through July? Before the fireworks are even over, we're already thinking about back-to-school shopping, fall routines, and everything waiting for us in the next…
But this episode is a focus to... prioritize intentional living, a to-do list that is meant to enrich your life and to help you slow down and make the most of moments in your day without feeling overwhelmed, without feeling like you are being pulled in all these other directions.
How can you slow down? How can you be in more tune with yourself and your priorities and what matters the most and be present in the moment you are in.
And so for today's episode, I am so excited about this.
This idea kind of came to me a couple of weeks ago as I was thinking through upcoming episodes, knowing that July was about to be here and that I have a July intentional to-do list episode.
And this really just stuck out to me and resonated deeply in my heart, thinking about this concept of why can't July just be July? And there's such an interesting emotional pool with July, right? Because for me as a teacher home during the summer months with my boys, loving, fully loving the summer routine, the summer schedule, love the pure blessing the teaching schedule is of having these weeks off at home.
But especially as a teacher in Georgia, when our very first day of school is August 3rd this year, And that means for me as a teacher, our pre-planning is the last week of July.
And naturally, it's easy for our brains to start shifting into that mentality as soon as the calendar becomes July 1st.
We start to close the chapter of summer and start to prepare for the next thing ahead.
And nothing wrong with planning ahead.
I love thinking forward.
I love getting excited about what's upcoming because that is a way to create joy and anticipation and you want to have that in your life.
But there's also something super important about being able to stay right here where we are.
And that is the focus for where we are today with our July intentional to-do list.
