What if September didn't have to be the month where you finally got everything together? Instead of adding more to your plate, this month can be an opportunity to simplify, slow down, and make a…
And to get us started, we have our September Intentional To-Do List, an episode specifically devoted to sharing with you things that that you can do this month to live a more intentional life.
Not a giant to-do list full of things that are going to make you feel anxious or overwhelmed, but things that are purposeful, that are intentional, that are going to allow you to connect with what matters the most.
August is a busy, overwhelming, and crazy month of adjustment.
And finally, September arrives after the long, drawn-out August drawl, and we can finally take a deep breath.
We can finally feel that hope.
We can finally feel that sense of excitement that we lost in the midst of the August chaos.
And with September comes the permission to reset, the permission to get excited again, to find more joy, right? We have this...
release, the release from trying to adopt the perfect routine, the release from trying to make way for new transitions with new seasons, right? We can just coast.
We can let September be the month we've dreamed of.
And so this month's intentional to-do list is focused all on how we can do less to make the most out of our time this month.
being intentional with the moments in our day, being intentional with the words that we speak, being intentional with the things that we do, and really just curating this wholesome presence about ourself when we move within our day and within our life.
And so that is what this September intentional to-do list is all about.
I'm sharing eight things to think about, eight things to focus on, to embrace this month, to allow you to...
Have that purpose with every step that you take.
And the very first one is pretty foundational and something that we all can do to really help us live with more intention and really allows us to make the most of each moment in a month.
when we're thinking of this just one month at a time framework within our mind.
And the first thing to really embrace this month is to shift the focus away from yourself.
And I know sometimes that can come across a little harsh, but we... want to make sure that our lives and our hearts beat for other people and that we don't become so consumed with our own journey, our own goals, our own obstacles, our own pressures and stresses that we forget the bigger picture, that we forget the world around us, that we forget the community around us, right? And we have such incredible giftings that people need.
We have encouragement.
We have love.
We have generosity.
We have these things that are so gifted to us that can be used to pour into other people.
And it can be easy and tempting to stick in your own me, me, me zone.
But what if this month we shifted the focus away from our actual self and focus a little bit more on those around us? right? It can be easy to be consumed with all the things we're trying to do.
We're trying to accomplish how we're feeling, how we're coping, but it's so powerful when instead we can focus outward and being intentional in making that choice to think about others.
