In this video, Kevin and I break down Be Seen, the third step of our 5Bs go-to-market framework, and how to actually get your helpful B2B content in front of your dream customers using organic and…
And we'll kick off by talking about why this is so important, because great content generally flops without smart distribution.
Even the best content out there is completely useless if your dream customers never see it.
They never build that trust, they never get that helpful information from that content to build that trust in the first place, and it will flop.
You will feel like you've put in all this effort, all this resource into putting that content together, and it goes absolutely nowhere and it seems like a waste of time.
That post and pray approach to this does not work.
You need to have an intentional plan to consistently distribute your content.
Think like a media company.
You don't just create, you also promote.
So that helpful content, once it's there, it also needs to be pushed out there to the people that need to see it.
People have to see your stuff, and I think B2B companies in particular are very guilty of this.
We get so into the tick-the-box exercise, which, you know, it's not always our own fault.
People expect us just to do certain things like, you know, make sure you create that webinar, make sure you get it up on your website, create the blog post from that webinar.
But we're not thinking about the reason we're doing those things in the first place, and the reason is so people see that.
And if they see that, then hopefully it's building some sense of trust with our brand so people remember us, so when they're in market and they're looking to buy, they see us as the true experts and the people who can help them with that.
So that's why this part of our framework is incredibly important because it is all about, as we say, being seen.
And it's even relevant today in the world where AI is taking over so much of that content discovery process.
You know, people are afraid that traditional SEO doesn't work for organic discovery, that it's changing towards AI, that the traffic isn't there anymore towards content.
But that misses the fundamental point, that helpful content still needs to get to the people that need to see it.
But even with AI, you still need to do the work to get it seen and picked up in AI.
There's basic organic practices that come from SEO that we know also work in AI at the moment with AI overviews and chats.
They scrape the internet, they scrape that content, and there's certain things you can do to get that visibility, even in those AI-dominated spaces as well.
Even today, where the landscape is changing and what factors influence that is changing, there's still things you will need to do over time to do that.
And we've really distilled it down to two main ways to go about this.
The first one is looking at organic ways to build that distribution, and the second way is paid, paid channels to get that distribution going.
