Today, we're talking about something that can feel so stressful for many families, the new school year.
Yeah, whether your child's going back after the summer, they could be moving year groups and changing classrooms, changing schools entirely.
Maybe they don't have a school to go to and you're in limbo, might be waiting for confirmation or waiting for confirmation of a new provision, a package like us for IATAS, or perhaps your children are being homeschooled.
But this time of year can just bring up so many emotions.
Yeah, it really can.
And we wanted to do this episode because we know parents might be feeling all sorts of different things right now.
I know I am.
My youngest is starting school in mainstream and my oldest is going back to their specialist school with quite a few changes ahead.
So I can already feel myself bracing for those.
Yeah, it's not just the children as the parents that you really do brace yourself.
So this year, one of mine is going back to specialist school for what could be the final year.
But again, I don't know.
There's so many unknowns.
And the other is going to be doing an ear test package.
But we don't know what that looks like right now.
So feeling anxious can be quite common.
You might even feel like you've just got your child regulated over the summer and all that's about to change.
You might be worried about how they're going to cope with changes ahead.
Well maybe the holidays have been really hard.
Maybe there's been no routine, very little support, no break for you and actually you're counting down until school starts again.
This has definitely been the case for me in past years.
Yeah, and I think there can be some guilt that comes along with feeling that.
Oh,
yes,
definitely.
