What's the most important room in your dental office? Well, a lot of dentists might say it's the operatory or the reception area, but it's probably the bathroom because that's where patients really get to be private where they're in there by themselves and they're looking around at everything that's present.
I know for me, one of the ways I judge a great restaurant, besides the decor and the food, is the bathroom.
When I walk into a bathroom, if it's nice and clean, if there's actually a speaker in the bathroom in a restaurant, and there are lit candles, there's nice artwork, and it's meticulous, and there's hand towels that I can use, but maybe the logo of the restaurant's on it, I'm feeling like this is a special place.
If I walk into a bathroom and I see... furniture in there or the worst is you have those baby seats where they can sit at the table and they're sitting there and I know those baby seats are in the bathroom and then they're going to go to the table and then back or if I see a mop in the corner or if it's just disgusting or the paper is overflowing and it's early in the evening and they haven't taken the time to clean the trash.
I know that if they're doing that in the bathroom, which everybody sees, what are they doing in the kitchen? I have walked out of so many restaurants because I didn't like what the bathroom looked like.
And my son sometimes says, why are we leaving here? Did you go inside the bathroom? He goes, dad, you're being a little crazy.
Well, maybe I'm being crazy, but I think it's a reflection of what goes on in the inside.
And we also have not only soaps, but we have lotions so they can moisturize themselves.
