When I hear conversations about the coaching industry falling apart, I think about what's underneath the presentation because a business can look convincing from the outside.

The photos, the testimonials, the language, the confidence, And confidence is hella persuasive, especially when you're tired, your revenue's unpredictable, and someone is describing a future you desperately want to believe is available for you.

She seems so certain, so confident, so living that life, and you've been questioning everything.

For a moment, borrowing her certainty feels like relief, right? I understand why someone buys that.

But certainty during the sales conversation doesn't tell you how someone will respond when your situation gets complicated.

What happens when you try the advice and it doesn't work? What happens when your business doesn't fit the example? What happens when you say, I don't understand why we're doing this? That's where I want to pay attention because the relationship has no, or you know what? The relationship has to function really after you stop being impressed.

We need to actually understand and get to the core of the resolution that we're looking for.

Okay, but how did we arrive at that price? Who's buying? What are they comparing it with? What's included? What does delivery require? What have actual prospects said? Those questions belong in the conversation.

And unfortunately, that coach that you hired doesn't think about those things.

They wanted to be a coach because they wanted control of their freedom and their lifestyle and to help women.

They didn't actually have the background to change prices and advise you on the reasons why to change the prices and how to change the prices.

So her confidence is just a fancy little Lisa Frank sticker that you're putting on the outside of your homework assignment when the actual homework is what needs help with.

We don't need to be pushed into this idea that just believe it and it will happen.

All of these questions belong in every conversation when you are creating something from nothing.
