Paul MackinnonGuestJoostHostWelcome to the Aerobic Edge podcast.
I'm Joost, your coach over at Pace Buddies.

We try it out for a few times, and running becomes homework and difficult.
What's going wrong? Paul Mackinnon runs The Balanced Runner, and he coaches elite runners to just mortal runners like you and me, and he teaches that it's the wrong way around.
You should begin with proper movement, and foot landing and steps per minute are an outcome, not a goal to chase.
We also get into what a good technique leads to in terms of speed and efficiency.
Let's dive in, and I hope you enjoy my conversation with Paul Mackinnon.

But before-
... we delve into technique, maybe you can tell me something about yourself and how you became active in the running technique world.
