Amodei is calling on his industry to slow the pace of AI development amid concerns it could spiral out of control, and in Amodei's words, "Take over the internet." OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and others in the AI sphere have signaled their support for the idea.

Amazon now says its next Prime Day will take place on October 6th and run through the 7th.

The 7th is also when Microsoft will hold its next major hardware event, which it's billing as a conversation on how local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC.

And good news for parents who are tired of listening to Baby Shark, Spotify now says it will let people exclude kids music from their taste profile.
