Lindsay Schultz Celebrates Haskell Win on TDN Writers’ Room

Well, Randy, seeing as you were on hand at the Haskell, let's talk about the Haskell Stakes won by Baby Vino.

Lindsay Schultz, her first grade one win.

We'll talk to her just a little bit later on.

Owned by Cosmo Stables and Delta Squad Racing.

Yeah.

What a race.

You were there firsthand.

How was the atmosphere? How was the day? How was the inquiry that seemed to take way too long?

The atmosphere was typical for the Haskell.

It was unbelievable.

If anything, I don't know, I didn't see a final attendance figure, but...

Easily the youngest crowd at any racetrack that I've ever been to for any major race, and that includes Keeneland, which has always had a very young crowd.

They were all having a great time inside because it was raining most of the day at Monmouth.

And it was a good race.

Obviously, it was a very good race as well, an entertaining race.

The inquiry that took longer than you thought it should, and I agree.

At least they put the inquiry sign up and they looked at it right away, which is something that not every steward's room at every racetrack in America would do.

So kudos to Mama for that and for making the right decision, in my opinion, to leave it alone and not do anything about it.

Obviously, we can talk about this.

TD can talk about it more.

But Paco was being typically aggressive.

I don't think he crossed the line necessarily in coming over and trying to intimidate Vargas on Baby Vino.

Maybe a light brush at the quarter pole or so, but it was kind of tit for tat after that.

But I will give the opinion that if Paco Lopez had just worried about his own horse...

And stayed on the fence, which he easily could have gotten with the clear lead.
