Starting with the main event as always, we got Buckley taking on Malott in the 170 division.
Buckley, 32, Malott, 34.
A little bit of a weird age difference.
You would expect Buckley to be older, but Malott is two years obviously older.
Now, Buckley coming in as a slight underdog.
That's a little surprising to me, too.
Buckley plus 130 right now, Malott minus 150.
Buckley is 11 and 6 inside the UFC, but he is 6 and 2 at welterweight, with his losses at welterweight being Usman and Sean Brady.
And then his losses, he got KO'd three times and he lost by decision three times, but he's never been finished at welterweight.
In my opinion, I think Buckley has fought way better competition so far in both their young careers.
There's a little bit of a, of a size difference in height.
Malott's three inches taller, but weirdly enough, Buckley has a three-inch reach advantage.
When you look at the stats in this one, Malott lands more, he's more accurate, but Buckley has way better striking defense.
Malott definitely has a better submission game, but in terms of all around grappling, it's very similar, and that's where I think Mike Malott's bread and butter is.
But if you look at the stats here, Buckley versus Malott in the grappling department.
Buckley, 1.43 takedowns per 15 minutes.
Malott, 1.63. 45% takedown accuracy for Buckley, where Malott has a 50% takedown accuracy.
Now, this is where things get a little different.
Buckley is very good at keeping it on the feet.
He has a 70% takedown defense, where Malott only has a 57%.
I think Buckley does hold a little bit more power.
I think he has more knockout power.
