So what I'm hearing is what was happening is when you say you were using food, because I know when we're in it, we're not thinking that way.

We're not saying I'm using food, but what was happening was there was a lot going on in your life, emotional overload.

And the thing that was so compelling to you that you couldn't stop doing was eating and because the eating actually somehow made you feel better in the moment of eating.

Is that what I'm hearing?

Your nervous system calms down for a moment.

And then on top of that, you're now saying, but what you thought the problem was, was you had fat on your body that you needed to

yes so because i was having these regular binge episodes my weight started to go up and then i i got bigger and bigger and the world around me started to change as my body changed so i was getting a lot more pressure my family

Oh, we just froze for a second there.

We did just freeze for a second.

So we're back.

Now you just said my world changed when I put on weight.

Now I think this is very important insight or a very relatable insight.

Tell me what happened.

Explain that experience to me because I think this is a very, very relatable for people listening.

So you put on weight and how did the world change?

Yes, well, I grew up in a smaller body, so I never had any sort of struggles with weight as a kid.

It was once I got to uni, once the binging began, my weight started going up and what happened was... people did start treating me differently.

So I was getting a lot more unsolicited comments about my body, especially from family members, sometimes from friends.

You know, just those little comments that are like, oh, I saw they've got a sale at farmers for big girls.

Why don't you go have a look at that? Well, I saw in Women's Health magazine that apparently intermittent fasting is supposed to be good.

Have you thought about that? It's like all these little comments of, oh, we're just concerned about your health.
