Jonny and Phil review the South Coast GT weekend: venue praise, the 1,000‑point pack, mission choices, and how the tables and timing worked. Phil also announces the details of English Open (Warfare…
Where should we move next, Phil? Should we talk about the pack or should
we...
Yeah, yeah, let's talk about the pack.
So it was 1,000 points, which was deliberate for at least two reasons, if not three.
One was working around the shop's opening hours, predominantly on a Sunday, just so that we had enough time to play the games without starting too early, finishing too late, and inconveniencing the shop staff.
The biggest reason, to be honest, is I really don't enjoy 12.50 events.
And there are so...
Yeah, I've been pushing for a thousand.
So I was very, I was very happy that you'd run a thousand.
I know, as you say, part of it is not, is out of necessity, but actually I agree that 1250 is too much.
Yeah.
And there are so many 1250 events.
So I didn't just want to run another 1250 event.
We, maybe we could have done 1100 and two hour 15 rounds.
It would have been tight on a Sunday.
You wouldn't have had as a player, you wouldn't have had as much time to grab your lunch and that kind of thing in order for us to, to get in and get out, you know, within the shopping centers opening times.
So it's a thousand points.
It was one to three rifle platoons.
It was a maximum of one of each specialist platoon.
And for every specialist platoon, you must have one rifle platoon.
And we, so we basically play the game of you're trying to avoid spam a lot, basically.
So you can't have eight tanks.
Yeah.
Because I was caught by this with, I wanted to run four rifle platoons before I read the pack.
Yeah, you did.
