We talk a lot in this community about what it costs physician spouses to hold everything together, but here's a question I don't think we ask enough: what does physician wellness actually get to look like and who does it include? Because the way it usually goes is this: the physician finds something that fills them back up, and the family waits for them to come home.

But somewhere along the way, we accepted a version of physician wellness that treats the family as a separate category, something to get back to, not something to bring along.

My guests today are Mike and Ashley Christiansen, and they are quietly challenging that assumption and putting physician families first.

Together, they built the MedGolf Wellness Foundation and a golf tournament series called Clubs & Scrubs, designed to include spouses, kids, and the people physicians actually want to spend time with.

Today, we're going to talk about why hospital wellness programs keep missing what physicians need entirely, what it looks like to build something physician-led from scratch, and why this family believes that taking care of the doctor has to include taking care of the whole family.

This is the go-to podcast for physician spouses who are done white-knuckling through life married to medicine.

I am your host, Kendra Harvey, professional certified life coach, advocate, mentor, and the person who will say the things that no one else is saying, but we're all thinking.
