This week, we're going to talk about something called the power method.
And it's really a simple way to look at why some people train consistently and make really great progress while other people work just as hard and eventually feel like they've hit a wall.
I know I'm in the second category here.
I feel like I'm training consistently.
And then my husband trains consistently.
And I'm always like, I wish I looked like that.
So we'll answer these questions
yeah power is an acronym which we'll get to here shortly and break that down for you but really the big idea here is that the workout itself is just really only part of the equation so people spend a lot of time asking what's the best exercise how many reps should i do should i lift heavy should i do cardio before i work out or cardio after i work out But if the rest of the system isn't working, even a great workout program can underperform.
Right.
So power gives you five areas to look at.
P is your protein.
O is the overload.
W is your actual workout and when you're scheduling it.
E is energy.
And R is the recovery.
All right.
There you have it.
There's the breakdown of the acronym.
And if you're not getting the results that you want, one of these five areas may be the reason.
