[upbeat music] Welcome to Super Sorry, the podcast where we use superhero stories to explore apologies, accountability, and all the problems that could've been solved with an honest conversation.
We're Todd and Amber, movie fans, mythology fans, and two people who were so blown away by Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey in 70 millimeter IMAX that we almost forgot that half of the cast was also in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
But you may be wondering, "I thought Super Sorry was about superheroes." The Odyssey could be considered the OG superhero story.
I would say that's a superhero.
But director Chris Nolan, his version of The Odyssey isn't really a story about defeating monsters.
It's a story about surviving your own choices and guilt.
In this movie, the Trojan War becomes a cautionary tale about what happens when everyone waits for somebody else to take accountability, because every apology that's delayed eventually becomes a problem somebody has to carry, and Nolan's The Odyssey is the story that follows.
We'll be asking whether pride, blame, and lack of accountability created one of the biggest preventable disasters.
