Okay, so the first thing that I want you to do, and this is really important, is I want you to write down how you're feeling about not even getting acknowledged for this promotion.

I don't want anything like that because it's really important for you to give yourself permission to be upset and not okay about it.

Because once you write it all down, you'll know exactly like, okay, this is how I'm feeling and what's the truth behind it.

Because there is something too that's powerful about writing it down and putting it out on paper.

to see how you're feeling, but it's also really important for you to see how you're judging yourself from it.

Because chances are, if you're anything like I was, when this happened to me, I was in this negative spiral loop of all the things that I thought I was doing wrong that didn't allow me to get the promotion.

Like, what did I miss? Was it something I said? Did I offend this person? But here's what I want you to know is the reason that you didn't get the promotion has more to do with the corporate politics crap that's played, excuse my language for that, but it's true, versus anything else.

Because for all you know, the VP's nephew needed a job and they just so happened to fit the role better than what you did.

But that has nothing to do with you as it is the problem with the corporate world.

And Samuel 16, 7 has a great verse that says, the Lord does not look at the things that people look at.

Because the second thing I want you to do is I want you to take all of that energy that you've been replaying meeting after meeting, after the announcement email, every moment you found out that someone else got this job before your manager even told you because that happens all the time or the person, you know, who was supposed to give you an opportunity didn't.

And I want you to redirect all of that energy to go from what's wrong with me and why I didn't get this interview, but to answering this question, well, what's next? Because ruminating isn't going to get you anywhere.

But taking that feeling that you have right now, that frustration, can actually be fuel for you for what's next.

So here's your assignment that I want you to do and set a timer for this, like 15 minutes of free writing the answer to this question.

If I were building something of my own, what would it be? You're not allowed to edit it.

Because Jeremiah 29 11 says, for the plans I know I have for you are plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

And so once you have all of that, okay, now that you've taken this really crummy situation of getting passed over for a promotion, now you've translated all of your amazing skills And what you could actually do spending that 60 some hours a week working for someone else.

And now you've written it down of what would it look like if I built something on my own? And here's the last step.
