So today's episode is, is broken down into three tips that are going to help you acknowledge what's actually happening to you in the corporate world.

Because here's what I know, is if you've been getting the same feedback for years and years and you're not moving forward, it's for a reason, and they're keeping you stuck, and we're gonna talk about that.

So the first tip that I have for you is when you have an opportunity to sit down today before you leave the office or when you get home, is pull up your last two to three performance reviews, and I want you to read them back to back.

I'm not talking about the overall rating at the top, but I'm talking about the actual language in the body of the text and the specific phrases that are being used.

And then I want you to highlight anything that repeats, because here's what HR is not going to tell you.

If the same areas for growth keep showing up year after year, that's not developmental feedback anymore.

But it's a decision that's already been made about you that's been wrapped up in encouraging language, so it keeps you exactly where you are.

And every time, like, August and September and March and April hit, it just gets a little bit easier for them to just give you the language that is keeping you where you are and not moving you forward.

And I have talked to so many women in this community who've told me the same exact story, the same phrases, just a different year.

Uh, things along the lines of, "I just need a bit more executive president-- uh, presence.

Just one more review cycle, and we'll revisit your promotion." I mean, I've heard the same version of that twice over and over again.

It is not imagination that maybe you're being too sensitive or you're overthinking things.

It's evidence that is showing you that you are meant for more than where you're at right now.
