Breast Lifts. 7/18/26 WOR show.

Well, anyway, tonight we are going to be talking about breast lifts, the number four procedure, the most number fourth procedure.

most common procedure in all of cosmetic surgery.

About 154,000 women had breast lifts last year.

And it's a procedure that I enjoy doing.

And I have to tell you, it is one of the highest satisfaction procedures in all of cosmetic surgery.

In fact, of all of plastic surgery.

I rarely will operate on a woman that doesn't say the same thing afterwards.

Why did I not do this earlier? Here's what happens.

When you reach puberty, of course, your breast begins to grow, right? The breast tissue grows.

We put fat in our breasts.

and the skin grows to accommodate the developing breasts.

The purpose of the breast, of course, is to produce milk in pregnancy and during pregnancy, well, what happens? The breast tissue expands dramatically and some women's breasts double in size and some even more than that.

And it's such a rapid growth.

The skin grows very rapidly also.

And whenever there's rapid growth, whether it's from eating pizza every night or being pregnant, you get stretch marks because stretch marks, that just is a way of the skin accommodating to a rapid growth.

So what happens is the skin actually splits underneath.

The epidermis can grow very fast.

But the dermis, which is the lower level of skin, can't grow as fast.

And it actually fractures.

And if you look under the microscope, there's a little inflammation.

Same thing happens in a wrinkle.

So in your body, it's a stretch mark.

but in your face it's a wrinkle that occurs.

So, okay, we get these as your breast grows.

You don't really see them until after the pregnancy when you've stopped breastfeeding.
