And I signed up for one of the volunteer activities, and it was with the Miracle League.

Uh-huh.

And the Miracle League is an organization that brings together, uh, kids with, uh, different types of disabilities, cancers-

Oh, wow

... you know, things like that.

Yeah.

And, uh, me and some of my college teammates, we went out there, and we would just play baseball with these kids.

Cool.

And, uh, just to see how happy they were just to throw a ball-

Yeah

... like, they would just...

They would have a tee at home plate.

They would hit it.

Everyone would hit a home run, run around the bases.

Oh, wow.

And just to see-

Yeah

... how happy these kids were-

Yeah

... just to see you, like-

Mm

... 'cause we were just college players.

That's cool.

Yeah.

We weren't really like anyone special.

Just how happy they were to see you, how happy they were to throw a ball with you, take a picture.

Wow.

That was the, that was the single moment-

Yeah

... that I think Jesus tapped me on the shoulder, was like, "Hey, bud," like-

Wow

... "Hey, this is what it's all about."

That's it, yeah.

You know? So, like, it, the, using whatever gift that you have-

Mm

... um, to be a service to others.

Mm-hmm.

And my prayers transformed from that day.

I got into the world, my, into the word-

Mm-hmm

... and my tr- my prayers transformed from, "Hey, God," like, "I wanna do this, that, and the other thing," to-

Yeah

... "Whatever you have me do in life," whether it's playing baseball-

That's great

... whatever it is-

Yeah

... like, let it be an act of service to others.
