Also, before we started the recording, it's interesting you bring up the story because you talked about one of the things we steward is our stories, and you're definitely doing that in the book.

yeah yeah uh well i share the biggest failure of my life which we may or may not get into and because i think we don't talk enough about failure and i think it's it's um failure by the world standards is common to all of us and what i've found is that god is with us always and he gives he gives purpose to the pain so it's important for us to embrace the pain and that as we do that he will accomplish his work in us and so so yeah we that's a big part about of what this is about i think is to be able to enter into the authenticity of our lives and to share the truth of our lives and as apostle paul says we are a living sacrifice meant to be poured out for the benefit of others so being a living sacrifice i think means in part stewarding our stories

i love that And listeners, if you do turn into readers and get the book, you'll find that Barry was very transparent here and very relatable.

A major source of the sustaining joy I've experienced in my career is knowing I am stewarding the assets of and for the creator of the universe for the benefit of his creation.

What a gift it is that the creator of the universe would invite us to be co-creators with him.

And that's what we're doing is I know you believe this and talk a lot about this on your podcasts and believe in your bones, the value of stewardship, but that we really, really get the idea that nothing is ours, that it all belongs to God, that it's all a gift.
