Stellar Teacher Podcast: A Podcast for Upper Elementary Teachers
Oct 12, 2026 · 22 min · 8 segments
Have you ever sat down to teach a small group only to realize you’re spending half your attention wondering what the rest of your class is doing? Maybe students are interrupting you with questions…
So last week, we talked about activities and routines that the other students who you are not meeting with can be participating in.
But today, we're digging into that a little bit farther, and we're gonna be talking about behavior management of the other kids in your class.
Because when you teach upper elementary, that means that you have, like, 25, 30 students not sitting right directly in front of you.
So we're gonna be talking all about behavior management when it comes to teaching small groups.
I was gonna say, I think this is probably an area where, like, any time we talk about small groups, the majority of questions that teachers have have nothing to do with what goes on at the small group table, and it's really management of everybody else, management of activities, management of behavior, management of time.
Mm-hmm.
I'm so excited for this conversation.
