We Tried 50 Mexican Candies… Some Were TERRIBLE

This week, Stay Outta My Fridge is heading to Mexico… without actually leaving the kitchen. Beard Laws bought a giant assortment of Mexican candy packed with roughly 50 pieces, and most of the crew has absolutely no idea what they're about to eat. Avery, Iyla, Lo, Meg and Beard Laws dig through the bag to find the candy that looks the best, the candy that looks the most terrifying and, eventually, the best and worst Mexican candy of the entire taste test. Things get weird quickly. There's gummy spaghetti with sauce, pickle flavors, watermelon candy, mango lollipops covered in chili, mystery powders, cinnamon and peppermint gum, spicy strawberry candy and several creations that lead to one very important question: Why is there chili powder on EVERYTHING?! The crew starts with a reigning champion and puts each new candy up against it. Then everyone gets to choose a candy for somebody else before things descend into a rapid-fire speed round. Eventually, the best candies make the Final Four — while one particularly rough family of candies earns the unofficial "Why Did Mexico Do This?" award. And after dozens of bites, licks, questionable smells and immediate regrets, something completely unexpected happens: Everyone agrees on the winner. Which Mexican candy takes the championship?
