While he was on the island of Patmos, John the Apostle received a vision.

And in one segment of that vision, he heard two refrains.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

We'll start our service with a hymn, The Lord Will Come and Not Be Slow.

And let me just say that towards the end of the first verse, there's...

A word, harbinger.

It's not in my vocabulary normally.

It means something or someone who points to something or someone that's coming.

You could almost say like a herald.

You'll find that at the end of verse 1.

So let's sing, the Lord will come and not be slow. .

The Lord will come and not be slow.

His footsteps cannot bear.

Before him righteousness shall come.

His royal heart in turn.

only to such as do him fill, salvation is at hand.

The earth, like to a flower, shall bud and blossom then.

And justice from the heavenly power look down no more to men.

Rise, God! this weekend earth redress.

For thou art he who shall by right the nations all possess.

The nations all whom thou hast made shall come and all shall the Lord and glorify thy name.

O great thou art and wondrous great, by thy strong hand undone.
