Life Update from Russ

I just wanted to make this video, I think, just as a bit of catharsis for myself.

Um, noth- I, I guess I should preference by saying that nothing is wrong, at least yet.

Um, I've been, uh, I've been getting, I've, I've [chuckles] I've been getting some health updates lately.

First and fo- foremost, um, I, uh, have a mental health assessment, uh, in a few weeks to finally, hopefully, uh, get a diagnosis about autism or ADHD/ADD or [chuckles] maybe even both.

And, uh, I credit, uh, Ha- Hamish Steele's Go Man with finally kind of pushing me to do that.

Um, if you want a connection to Kaiju Comic Cast, there it is.

Um, the other thing is, um, I d- I had some blood work done a few months ago, and my thyroid levels were extremely low.

Um, thyroid issues run in my family.

My dad is currently battling, uh, on and off thyroid cancer.

Um, it's, it's not super, um, aggressive, I suppose.

And my sister actually had her thyroid removed.

Um, Hashimoto syndrome, I believe, is what she, uh, was suffering from.

So, um, I had the low thyroid levels, and then, uh, I had an ultrasound done.

And it looks like I have a 2.5 millimeter nodule on the left side of my thyroid and a one-ish millimeter sized nodule on my right.

The right one, just gonna monitor, check back on it in a year.

The left one, the doctor wants to do a biopsy.

Now, I'm told that this is a fairly common thing.

Uh, people have issues with the thyroid all the time.

They get goiters, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

So I am not panicked.

Um, you know, a worst-case scenario, I have the big C. Um, l- low wor- least worst-case scenario, I have a goiter, I guess.

Um, but I, I don't...

I mean, it's possible I als- I also may have Hashimoto syndrome.

I don't know.

Um, but this news has had me reflecting a lot.
