Lie number one, the sunk cost fallacy.

I've put too much time into this, too much money, too much effort.

I can't possibly walk away now.

Here is the truth.

The time is already spent.

It's gone, whether you stay or go.

The only question is: what do you do with the time that's still ahead of you? Staying in something misaligned doesn't honor the investment.

It compounds it.

Every day you stay is another day spent in the wrong direction.

Lie number two.

They're going to think I'm insane, dumb, ridiculous, off my rocker.

Your partner, your parents, your colleagues, the people who watched you commit to this thing and will now watch you walk away from it, what will they think? First of all, what they think of you is none of your business.

We are no longer available for any of that.

Here's what I also know.

The people who truly love you want you aligned, not just stable.

And the people who will judge you for pivoting, who need you to stay small and predictable in order to feel comfortable, those aren't your people anyway.

God didn't give them the vision, so stop expecting them to see it.

Lie number three.

I can't do it if I can't see the whole staircase.

I don't know where this pivot leads.

I can't see the whole plan.

What if I'm wrong? You don't need to see the whole staircase.

You just need to see the next step.

Intuition does not work like a GPS that shows you the entire route before you leave the driveway.

It works more like a flashlight.
