As Reverend Raquel has shared that for the next two weeks, we are going to focus on the flourishing of children and also those who come alongside children.

It's not so that we might feel bad about ourselves, but instead we might be called in and called up to prioritize children and their flourishing in the very ways that Jesus also prioritized children and their flourishing.

In Luke chapter 18, which is a very popular verse that many of us know, Jesus says, let the children come to me and do not hinder them because to such as these belong the kingdom of heaven.

Do not keep them from access to the things that they need to flourish because they show us a reflection of who God is, which means that it's not just the children.

It is also to how we as communities show up for children that is reflective of the God that we serve.

So this morning and then next week, it's important for us to see how we live out lives where children are highly regarded in our midst because these disruptive words from Jesus are not just words, but they're also an invitation.
