Surprise! Most teams don't go over capacity on purpose. It happens slowly, and then one day that's just your culture. Worse, by the time someone says out loud that they can't take on one more thing…
Adrienne DorisonHostEmilyHostSo I've spoken to a lot of business owners
last couple of months.

The last couple of months I've been just like talking to a lot of people and listening to like what's going on and, you know, supporting them or signing them on as clients if it's the right fit.

And something that continues to come up is a team that is over capacity, right, because they are maxed in terms of either like client deliverables, if they're like a service based company, like they're like, oh, my gosh, the team cannot handle any more work.

If they're not a client like service team member, like if they're not contributing to that, it's like over capacity in all of the other areas of the business, whether that's, oh, they're doing the marketing or they're doing the administrative or whatever.

the financial, whatever it is in their role, it just seems to be this like across the board, we've got team members that are overstretched and overcapacity.

And that has a cost in and of itself, because sometimes what's happening when I'm talking to these business owners is we're overcapacity as a team.

So like we can't take on any more clients until we're we create more capacity, right? Whether that's hiring more people or improving the capacity of the people that we have or a combination of both, like essentially the cost, just the cut and dry cost is you're losing potential revenue Because you're saying no to clients because you literally don't have the bandwidth to bring them on.

But there's so many more costs that come along with that that I'm like, oh, but you're not thinking about all of these things.

And so I wanted to just jam on some of those things with you because I know you've seen this in teams and probably even in our team at certain times where it's like, oh, this is a real cost if I don't have any more bandwidth or things are getting put on the back burner because I'm at capacity due to these things.
be seasonal, sometimes be through a growth spurt.
Sometimes it's just like,

the norm of how we max our team which is something to talk about like yeah that's
red flag that's just how we
everybody here loves feeling they're drowning all the time that's just yeah they love yeah

what's like a way that a job description would describe that in a positive way to get as well under
pressure yes Or really good at managing multiple deliverables at the same time.
