Season 2, Episode 22 — Sept. 21, 2026 Length: 9:47 This week’s episode pulls the Mystery Machine up to ODHS for updates on immigration-related staff guidance, ReportConnect office hours, 2027…
Welcome back to Sometimes a Great Podcast.
I'm Dr.
B from ODHS Communications.
Yellows.
I'm Shanika, Community Partnership Coordinator here in D10.
And as we all know, in a Scooby-Doo mystery, four minutes is plenty of time to discover glowing footprints, lose an entire sandwich, and wonder why the abandoned amusement park has such a well-funded maintenance department.
Here, however, it's enough time for one important message, because this is four minutes for you.
Director Liesl Wendt is following up with front desk employees and others who participated in recent listening sessions about immigration related concerns.
Staff shared what they are seeing in ODHS offices and communities, along with questions about safety, employee well-being, and how the agency should respond when people come to us for help during uncertain or difficult moments.
The first result is a new staff FAQ based on the questions raised during the sessions.
It includes the clearest answers currently available and will continue to be updated as ODHS receives additional information.
More guidance is also coming about what employees should do if immigration enforcement is encountered at an ODHS office.
Director Wendt says leadership may not have every answer immediately, but they will continue listening, communicating openly, and connecting with employees about the resources they need.
For more information, see the Wednesday, September 16 issue of Discover.
And that's four minutes for you, folks.
The FAQ is here, the investigation continues, and more answers will be added as they become available.
