324. Why Longer Intervals May Be Worse (Sometimes), Carb Totals in Cycling, US Champ Doping, and Squats for Endurance Athletes

Okay, let's get on to news.

We're gonna start with carbs and women's cycling.

So Demi Vollering, who just won the Tour de France Femmes, released, um, all of her fueling data, and the headline finding was that she had 110 grams of carbs per hour across the entire Tour.

So that includes very low-intensity stages, where her heart rate might not get above 125, and when she's just sitting in the peloton on a sprint stage, and the high-intensity stages, where she's going much higher.

So, um, the, like, like, we're seeing this denominator of...

the common denominator go towards about 110, it seems, for women's cycling.

And she's sponsored by Maurten, and she was doing a combination of the Maurten 160 drink mix, so that was, like, predominantly what she was using, and then gels as well.
