Not everyone has a rock bottom moment and you can't control if and when it happens for you. In this episode, I share how you can make the decision final without waiting for it to be "that bad". Work…
One of the confusing things about trying to quit drinking is watching how differently it works for different people.
You'll hear some people say that they had a moment where they just knew they were done.
They may go weeks or months without drinking, feel better, and then start questioning whether or not they can handle it again.
And when they compare themselves to the first type of person, it can feel like something's wrong with them.
Like, "Why can't I just decide and be done?" Or, "What's wrong with me?" It's very easy to interpret that as a lack of willpower or not wanting it badly enough, but that's not actually what's going on.
Others need more structure, more reinforcement, and more support to get to that same place.
And this is important because if you're waiting for a moment where you suddenly feel completely done, you might be waiting for a long time.
Not everyone gets a rock bottom moment, but that doesn't mean that you can't build the same level of commitment another way.
